I am interested in how inner processes come to light through relationships. My paintings are narrative featuring family members, friends, media and film images, dreams and architecture. I look for a feeling that is elusive yet familiar, and lies in the construction of the space. The presence of things meeting with the presence of other things including the space, inspires me. I sometimes include found material for its otherness, relate-abilty and as a reminder of the tactile world which we belong to.

Stefanie Denz, MFA University of Auckland, received a full Commonwealth Scholarship, Canada Council Grant, and BC Arts Council grant. She has exhibited in New Zealand, Germany, USA and Canada. She attended two residencies in Berlin, 2013, Transarts Institute (Plymouth University, UK.) in 2014. Stefanie is a teacher and art therapist, living on Saltspring Island, BC. Her work can be seen at Winchester Galleries Victoria, BC, Pod gallery, Ganges BC, and her studio.
